Familia Deicas Winery has a long history, dating back to before 1745 when the Jesuits acquired the land that is now known as Juanico Estate. 1830 marked the beginning of the wine-making legacy. The Deicas Family Era began in 1979 and continues today with its 3rd generation. They produce about 3 million bottles annually. In 1992, Preludio, Uruguay’s icon wine was born. It ages in an underground cellar built in stone by the Jesuits in 1745 and is now a National Historic Monum
