A Guide to Travel Protection

REAL ID
Deadline Extended to May 3, 2023
The United States Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday announced that the deadline for obtaining a REAL ID is now May 3, 2023, because of the impact of COVID-19 on the enforcement.
The news means if you wish to travel domestically on an airplane without a passport or enhanced driver’s license - you will be able to do so until at least May 2023.
After that, every air traveler 18-years or older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, a state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or a passport in order to get through TSA security checkpoints for domestic travel.
If you plan to fly domestically after the deadline - or enter a federal building and you don't have a passport -
don't delay get your REAL ID!
